History
Opened in 1934, The SSE Arena was originally built for the Commonwealth Games. But it really came into it’s own as a music venue, hosting great acts such as Weezer, The Beatles, T.Rex, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Eagles and the Manic Street Preachers to name but a few.
This arena received a large renovation in 2005 to modernise it, and has been sponsored by SSE in 2014, changing the name from Wembley Arena to the SSE Arena.
