History
As part of the London 2012 Olympics project, the Copper Box was designed to host the handball, pentathlon, fencing and goalball competitions. It first broke ground in 2009 and was opened in 2011 in time for the Olympics in 2012.
Since hosting the Olympics, The Copper Box Arena has taken on a life of it’s own, and now hosts many different events including boxing, basketball, badminton, netball, and of course Esports.
It’s first major Esports event was the Counter-Strike G3 in 2014, and has since gone on to host Call of Duty, Clash Royale and Rocket League tournaments.
